IATA Airport Handling Manual 2009

The IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM) has been developed to assist the industry in the provision of safe, effective and quality services at lower cost.

The AHM is a field reference publication that contains recommended industry standards and procedures covering airside safety, load control, baggage, cargo and mail handling, aircraft movement control, aircraft loading, departure control systems, functional requirements for ground support equipment, an extensive listing of aircraft doors and ground servicing points by aircraft type as well as the 2004 IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement. Published annually in English only.

A nice complement to the AHM is the AHM Toolbox CD-ROM. It contains various features from AHM and includes:

  • The 2004, 2003, 1998 and 1993 Standard Ground Handling Agreement in MS-Word format
  • Several fillable forms in MS-Word templates
  • Selected sections of the AHM in PDF format

IATA Cargo Interchange Message Procedures Manual

Standard Schedules Information Manual (SSIM)

The purpose of the Manual is to establish a set of common standards for external exchanges. It does not set out to dictate how airlines, or other organisations should handle their own internal schedule information.

To achieve standardisation in technique, format and construction, this manual includes all relevant IATA standards and recommended common practices, including those of the ATA/IATA Interline Communications Manual and the ATA/IATA Reservations Interline Message Procedures - Passenger (AIRIMP).
